Mothers day...A day like any other

This year i experienced my first mothers day as a mummy. The day itself isn't really any different to any other day, the baby still needs feeding, changing entertaining and comforted. The benefit is you may be lucky enough to receive gifts...(hopefully Chocolate and alcohol) a mummies best friend at times! But on a serious note mothers day is a day to just stop and take a moment to appreciate how lucky i am to have my little boy, (even if he can be a handful) i wouldn't have it any other way.

My day started with a nice early wake up from Reuben, i gave him a feed and then daddy took him, changed him and went down stairs with him to watch match of the day so i could have an hour in bed (not that i could switch back off) i was lucky to receive a lovely bunch of flower, my favourite chocolates (guylian mmm) and a bottle of prosecco (which is actually still unopened in the fridge) and a lovely personalised card which i will treasure forever! The rest of the day was very normal. We did our usual big food shop, unpacked the shopping, had lunch (whilst Reuben had a nap) and then we went round to my father in laws (Grandads) for a couple of hours. Later it was the usual bedtime routine and then we had our dinner. (which i helped cook) some lovely pies from our local farm shop, roast potatoes and broccoli/cauliflower cheese. Reuben actually slept well on this night which was possibly the best present of all

as he is so hit and miss!

For me the best part of mothers day is being able to spoil my own mum and let her know how grateful i am for all she does. I know how lucky i am to have my mum around even if shes far away as some people only have memories.

I hope you all had a lovely day no matter how normal or special it was! Big love to everyone who finds Mothers day difficult. And a special though to my Mother In Law who continues to shine bright on us everyday!
