Body Confidence...What is it?! I keep seeing lots of posts on social media about body confidence, which is great but it's not as simple as flicking a switch and suddenly loving everything about yourself.

Whilst I agree its important that we learn to love ourselves and set healthy, positive examples for our children I also think it's completely normal to want to improve certain aspects of yourself. Its how we go about that that's important.

Big changes in your life such as having a child often mean changes to your appearance. I think its completely normal and healthy to take some time to get used to and learn to love your new body. You've been used to seeing yourself a certain way for so long its OK to not be completely happy with how you look now. That doesn't mean you don't have body positivity or confidence!

Sometimes I feel like we go to far in the other direction on social media that people can be left feeling worse. Wondering why they aren't so confident or why don't I love my body as much. It's OK. You don't have to. There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve yourself. Its how you go about it and how realistic your goals are that matter.

Whats important is that we embrace that everyone is different. No two body's are the same and just because you feel differently to the person next to you that doesn't mean there's anything wrong.

The most important thing is that we're healthy and if you feel like your ideals or where you are right now don't fall in to that category, then know you're not alone and there's somebody out there who can help you. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask.

Labour and child birth Put so much stress on our body that some things quite frankly may never be the same again. These are the parts we have to learn to embrace. It wont happen over night and that's fine. That doesn't mean we aren't proud of our body's, it just means we need some time to fall in love with ourselves again.

Here's to rocking our tiger stripes and saggy skin (when we feel ready!)
