We were very kindly gifted a travel cot mattress by merifor in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and we haven't received payment or been told to say any of the below.

If you follow us on Instagram you will know my parents live 250 miles away in North Yorkshire. When we visit them we will often stay for a week or so at a time so a comfortable bed is a must for Reuben. Our travel cot lives at my parents and if you have one you will know the "mattress" that comes with them doesn't look or feel very comfortable. It's hard like cardboard and in segments so it can fold down small. Whilst this is practical for travelling around it doesn't offer a comfortable nights sleep.

The Merifor mattress is plush and luxurious and has many attractive features. It's 6 cm deep and made from superior foam so makes for a very comfortable surface. It has a sealed waterproof inner core (which is also wipe clean) to protect the mattress from spills and leaks. It uses advanced 3D spacer fabric for improved breath-ability around your child. It has an allergy seal of approval due to it's unique ellergenic technology and Merifor allergy protection. It has a removable outer cover which is heat adaptive and machine washable at 60° and the inner cover can still be used whilst it's in the wash and the mattress comes with a free 1 year warranty so you know what you're getting is good quality.

Merifor themselves have received multiple awards for their mattresses with the latest being from made for mums, the mother and baby awards and best baby and toddler gear and I can see why!

This mattress both looks and feels superior in quality. It fits perfectly in our travel cot and most importantly Reuben loves it! He started sleeping through the night again for the first time in ages whilst using this mattress! That's the icing on the cake for any parent!

This mattress doesn't fold down small for travelling but it would be easy to transport as it isn't huge and comes in a resealable bag for protection. For us this doesn't make a difference as 80% of the time it's static and will store under a sofa or bed. I feel happy that Reuben is sleeping on a surface that's both comfortable and safe and offers him a good nights sleep meaning we all wake up happy!

You can purchase your own Merifor mattress from Mothercare, Pramcentre, Huggle and Precious little ones.

I would recommend this brand and their mattresses to anyone!
